Canterbury Cathedral in the United Kingdom, and Augsburg Cathedral in Germany, have the oldest known original surviving stained glass panels in the world. Augsburg's date from the eleventh century, and Canterbury's from the mid twelfth century.

This ancient and beautiful art form has not changed in a Millenia. Large windows today are still made in exactly the same way as those early ancestor craftsmen.

The method of cut colored glass, H channel lead came, and lead solder as an art form, is a testament to a time honored craft, that has stood the test of the ages.

Installation tips.

Every Sunshine Coast Suncatcher is supplied with stylish hanging chains, spring clips for easy removal when cleaning, and screw in eyelets for the installation into timber window frames.

Heart of Glass Montville recommends the installation of suncatchers into timber, with the eyelets supplied as the strongest method for best results.

If any other method of hanging is to be used, such as fastening into plaster board or Gyprock products, then do not use the eyelets supplied. Please seek an appropriate wall board fastening system, (such as the Ramset Nylon Wall Mate Range) and use appropriate sized hooks or eyelets as per the installation instructions..

We do not recommend under any circumstances using suction cups on glass, as an appropriate fastening method.

Heart of Glass Montville has no responsibility for, and over the installation process that the customer undertakes. Any damage to a Heart of Glass product during or because of a faulty installation method is the responsibility of the customer.

Should your new Sunshine Coast Suncatcher arrive in any thing other than the perfect condition, please email us a photo of the damage still within the packaging, immediately upon opening and discovering the damage.

Once we receive the image confirming the damage during transit, we will arrange for a replacement, or a refund, depending on the wishes of the customer.
